About Our Approach

Hi! I'm Rachel, founder and owner of Health & Kindness LLC. With the combined perspective of being both a registered nurse and a registered dietitian, I bring over 14 years of experience in healthcare.

My own journey and recovery from disordered eating and overexercise ultimately led to my interest and career in nutrition, where helping others cultivate a compassionate relationship to food and their bodies is my true calling. I'm so glad you're here!

My passions include disordered eating recovery and navigating body image concerns through the lifespan. I have a special interest in working with patients with gastrointestinal disorders and other chronic illnesses.

As a former multi-sport athlete and a student of classical ballet for 10 years, I love working with athletes of all stages and levels of competition. Let me help you fuel your body for your sport!

I value evidence-based approaches to nutrition, that also honors my clients' lived experiences. I emphasize a nutrition approach rooted in self-care and self-compassion. I'm honored to partner with individuals, teams, and families in fueling their lives and their sports.

In my spare time, I enjoy traveling with my husband and daughter, trying new restaurants, watching and playing tennis, reading, yoga, playing with my cats, and drinking coffee.

Hi, I’m Julia! I’ve been active all my life—tennis is my one true love—but it wasn’t until college that I truly began to understand the importance of fueling my body properly. That curiosity sparked my passion for nutrition and led me to pursue it as a career. I earned my Master’s in Nutrition Science from Georgia State University, specializing in Sports Nutrition.

My career has taken me through a variety of settings, from clinical nutrition to several years as a Renal Dietitian, where I developed a strong foundation in medical nutrition therapy. I later worked at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in employee health, where I honed my counseling skills and helped individuals improve their well-being through practical, sustainable strategies.

I’m thrilled to bring my expertise in performance nutrition to the Health and Kindness team, combining my love of athletics with my passion for helping others. My philosophy is simple: nutrition should be realistic, evidence-based, and tailored to you. I believe in meeting you where you are and building a strong foundation together—one that supports your goals while also fitting into your lifestyle.

Outside of work, you’ll find me on the tennis court, on a walk around town, taking endless photos of my cats, traveling the world with my husband, and always hunting for the next great cup of coffee.

Hi, I’m Teryn,
I'm a registered dietitian with over 10 years of experience, and a mom who’s very much in it when it comes to feeding in real life.
I’ve always had an interest in nutrition, but it wasn’t until I discovered Intuitive Eating and Health at Every Size that everything really clicked for me. Through both my professional work and personal experiences with food, I saw how often people were taught to override their body’s cues in pursuit of doing things “perfectly.”

I take an empathetic, collaborative approach to counseling — creating space for you to learn, grow, and move toward a more peaceful relationship with food by letting go of rigid food rules.

I take an empathetic, collaborative approach to counseling — creating space for you to learn, grow, and move toward a more peaceful relationship with food by letting go of rigid food rules.
I believe it’s important to develop a positive relationship with food and movement through a non-diet approach. My goal is to support both your physical and mental health by helping you build habits rooted in nourishment rather than deprivation. I am also a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor.
I love working with individuals who are ready to heal their relationship with food — whether that’s recovering from disordered eating, an eating disorder, or simply wanting things to feel easier and more neutral. I’m a big believer that you don’t have to be “sick enough” to deserve support.

Over time, my work has expanded into supporting families and feeding children — especially as I’ve stepped into this role myself as a mom.

Because as much as we can understand the principles of nutrition and intuitive eating, feeding a child in real life can feel very different.

I support parents in navigating picky eating, reducing pressure at meals, and creating a feeding dynamic that feels steady and sustainable. My approach focuses on helping you show up as a calm, consistent leader at the table, while also honoring your child’s autonomy and relationship with food.

I also have a passion for prenatal and postnatal nutrition, supporting parents through the transition into feeding both themselves and their families.

When I’m not working, I love yoga, traveling, live music, and spending time with my husband, son, ragdoll cat, and golden retriever.
